President and CEO As CEO, Mark Fowlie is responsible for El Fresko's overall strategy and business direction. Prior to joining El Fresko, Mr. Fowlie's most recent position was as President of the Fulfillment and Assurance Solutions Business Unit with Subex Limited. He was responsible for the strategy, execution, and P&L of the global business unit that Subex established through its acquisition of Syndesis Limited in 2007. Mr. Fowlie originally joined Syndesis in January 2006 as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. As a 22-year veteran in technology, Mr. Fowlie's background includes work in all aspects of product strategy, product marketing, software engineering, sales and professional services. He has held executive-level positions including Senior Vice President of Products and Marketing at Workbrain prior to its acquisition by Infor and Vice President of Product Marketing at Amdocs, where he was responsible for the marketing of all Amdocs software worldwide. Prior to Amdocs, Mr. Fowlie was Director of Product Management for, and a founding employee of, Solect Technology Group, which Amdocs acquired in 2000. Mr. Fowlie's background also includes management consulting experience with a large systems integration firm. He holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto. Tom Kunimoto
Vice President, Marketing and Partnerships
 Mr. Kunimoto brings a career of more than 18 years in technology sales, marketing, partner and product management. He specializes in the launching of software products and cross functional go-to-market programs designed for initial market traction. Most recently, Mr. Kunimoto led the marketing organization and managed key partnerships at Calgary Scientific, an innovator in web-based medical imaging technology during their early growth stage. Prior, he held senior marketing roles with leading enterprise software companies including Director of Product and Industry Marketing at Workbrain and Director of Product Marketing, CRM at Amdocs. Mr. Kunimoto started his hi-tech business career in sales as an Account Executive with AT&T Canada/Unitel Communications and progressed through various roles in channel, product and market management. Mr. Kunimoto has consulted and advised numerous businesses on technology productization and developing market driven products. He has a Bachelors of Management degree from the University of Lethbridge.
Jeff Ellestad
Director, Product Management Mr. Ellestad is a skilled software architect and project manager with over 25 years experience in the information technology industry. He has extensive knowledge and development experience with storage systems, devices, networking technology, and database applications. Mr. Ellestad brings to El Fresko innovative vision and product design skills, which have helped reshape the company’s product line and prepare it for the future. He has been with El Fresko since 2001 and knows all of the company’s archival products intimately. Mr. Ellestad’s background also includes a wealth of experience developing software solutions for a variety of sectors, including financial services, telecommunications and oil and gas. He studied engineering and computer science at the University of Calgary and recently completed his CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification.
Chad David
Director, Software Engineering With over 16 years experience in software, product development and technology, Mr. David has been a founding member, developer and senior leader for numerous software and networking companies. His focus has been on the development of low-level applications and systems, primarily on file systems and networking in the UNIX kernel. Renowned for his passion to develop systems and teams that exceed expectations of both customers and investors, Mr. David has been involved with El Fresko's MagnaStor project since its inception. He has been a lead software design architect and developer with El Fresko since 2006. Prior to joining El Fresko, Mr. David worked as a founding member and in senior technical/systems administrator roles for companies such as CADVision, Enernet Technologies and Guild Software, which he helped grow into a successful custom software development firm. His background also includes work as a networking, communications and security consultant for a number of companies. Mr. David graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology with a degree in Computer Technology.
