El Fresko provides APIs to customers to embed into their applications and specialize the final product to their customer's needs and specifications. El Fresko's software is built on layers of software libraries. Every API layer has an associated service that controls it. These layers range from the low-level device driver layers to the higher file system layer.
The different API layers that El Fresko provides are at the CD-R/DVD-R layer, WORM File System layer, JBC (Jukebox Controller) layer and XFS (eXtended File System) layer. El Fresko also has an ODSS software to write to Magneto-Optical media as raw devices for Solaris.
